Five new projects to build anaerobic digestion (AD) plants

Tamar Energy plan to build the first dry plant in the UK in Greenwich, with technology provided by Kuttner and at least four other dry AD plants are in the pipeline.

Dry AD plants can process commingled garden and food waste, which cannot be used uin wet AD plants - the only ones currently available in the UK.  The dry AD plans produce less water sludge in the digesting process which reduces environmental risks, making it a better and safer solution for urban areas.
