NGV Network Welcomes Frozen Duty Differential until 2014

The Natural Gas Vehicle Network has welcomed the news in the Chancellor’s 2013 autumn statement that the duty differential on road fuel gases such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG) and bio-methane will be frozen at current levels for the next 10 years.

This key development for the road transport sector will allow a significant increase in confidence for road hauliers planning the introduction of gas vehicle adoption programmes. The growth of such programmes will assist the UK’s HGV haulage fleet to cut fuel pollution and costs, and help the UK meet its 2020 carbon reduction targets.
