Workforce Planning

The Workforce Planning tool enables small businesses to understand and quantify leavers in the work place and how this will effect their business.  The tool also provides small businesses with the information and resources they require to help them plan the replacement of any leavers.  The Workforce Planning tool holds information on forecasting, skills challenges and associated investment facing our industries over the next 15 years.

The model enables employers to:
  • Take a proactive, long term approach to workforce planning
  • Determine the actual numbers of recruits needed by year, together with the method of recruitment and training as well as associated costs
  • Plan recruitment and training activity - taking into account lead times to competence to manage investment in the most effective way
Critically, the model enables data from a number of employers to be aggregated, providing robust information on a regional and national basis. At this level the workforce planning model has been highly successful in influencing funding bodies, key stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
